The General Licensing and Registration Sub-Committee of North Yorkshire Council met on 17 September 2025. The Sub-Committee was scheduled to review a Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Driver Licence. The report pack for the meeting noted that the public might be excluded during the discussion of this item, as it was expected to involve the disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraph 1 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A to the Local Government Act 19721.
Procedure for the meeting
The Sub-Committee was scheduled to confirm the procedure to be followed at the meeting. According to the report pack, each hearing would take the form of a discussion led by the Chair, and cross examination would not be permitted unless the Sub-Committee considered it necessary. The Procedure for the meeting document also stated that the Sub-Committee would consider requests from parties for permission for other persons to appear at the meeting, and that such permission would not be unreasonably withheld.
