The Licensing Sub-committee of Charnwood Council met on 18 September 2025 to discuss licensing matters. The meeting included an introduction to the procedure to be followed in conducting the hearing. The key item for discussion was a review of a driver's licence, in accordance with the council's Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Licensing Policy.
Review of Driver's Licence
The sub-committee was scheduled to review a driver's licence in accordance with the council's Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Licensing Policy. An exempt report of the Licensing Manager was included in the Public reports pack for the sub-committee's consideration. An Agenda Supplement - Drivers Statement was also provided.
Exempt Information
The agenda for the meeting, as outlined in the Agenda frontsheet, included a recommendation that:
members of the public be excluded from the meeting during the consideration of the following item on the grounds that it will involve the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in Paragraphs 1 and 3 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A to the Local Government Act 1972 and it is considered that the public interest in maintaining the exemption outweighs the public interest in disclosing the information.
Paragraphs 1 and 3 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A to the Local Government Act 19721 relate to information about an individual, and information relating to financial or business affairs.
