The Human Resources Committee met to discuss and approve the pay award for the Chief Executive and Chief Officers for the financial year 2025/26. The committee approved a 3.2% pay increase for both the Chief Executive and Chief Officers.
Chief Executive and Chief Officers Pay Award 2025/26
The committee approved a 3.2% pay award for Chief Officers, including the Chief Executive, for the financial year 2025/26.
The report on the Chief Executive and Chief Officers Pay Award 2025/26 outlined the nationally agreed Green Book pay award1 for 2025/26 and the updated Somerset salary rates. The recommendations that the committee approved were:
- To note the nationally agreed Green Book pay award for 2025/26 and the updated Somerset salary rates for grades 17 to 4.
- To agree that a 3.2% pay award is awarded to Chief Officers (Chief Executive, Executive Directors and Service Directors) for the financial year 2025/26.
- To agree that a 3.2% pay increase is awarded to the Chief Executive for the financial year 2025/26.
Public Question Time
The Chair advised the Committee of the details of the council's public participation scheme. Members of the public who had submitted questions or statements were reminded of the three-minute time limit for each speaker.
