Standards Committee - Wednesday, 19th November, 2025 7.00 pm
The Standards Committee of Lewisham Council met on 19 November 2025 to discuss updates to the handling of standards and conduct, and to appoint members to sub-committees. The committee was also scheduled to note the minutes of the previous meeting, and to consider a report on complaints made under the Members' Code of Conduct. Healthier Communities Select Committee - Tuesday, 11th November, 2025 7.00 pm
The Healthier Communities Select Committee met to discuss the Lewisham Neighbourhood 2 Central 24/7 Community Mental Health Centre, and to hear the findings and feedback from the Reimagining Day Opportunities project. The committee also reviewed its work programme for the year and discussed items for the next meeting.
Standards Committee - Wednesday, 24th September, 2025 7.00 pm
The Standards Committee met to appoint two new independent persons to play a consultative role in investigating complaints against councillors, as required by the Localism Act 2011[^2]. Following interviews, Katie Prestedge and Kalwant Grewal were recommended for appointment to the roles. Council - Wednesday, 24th September, 2025 7.30 pm
Lewisham Council met to discuss a range of issues, including increasing councillor allowances, the use of substitutes on committees, and motions on childcare and public ownership of Thames Water[^2]. Councillors agreed to increase their basic allowance by 3.2% to £13,201 per year, and approved the use of substitutes on certain committees to ensure meetings can proceed even if some members are absent. A motion supporting the Labour government's plan for 30 hours of free childcare was passed, as was an amended motion calling for Thames Water to be brought back into public ownership.

...the committee agreed that the minutes of the meeting held on 12 March 2025 be approved as an accurate record of proceedings, encouraged the Council and Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust to collaborate on raising awareness of healthcare entitlements in migrant communities, recommended cultural competency training for all Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust staff, noted a report on Lewisham's Learning Disabilities Implementation Plan, suggested a site visit to Heather Close and further updates on the Lewisham Neighbourhood 2 Adult Community Mental Health Pilot & VCSE Procurement Cooperative for the 2025-26 work programme, recommended that the Mayor and Cabinet consider how the Council can work collaboratively with SLaM, SEL ICS and other health partners, to improve mental health services in the borough- including the delivery of this pilot project, and noted the completed work programme for 2024-25 and suggestions for the 2025-26 work programme.
