The Environmental Scrutiny Committee met on Thursday 15 January 2026 to discuss progress on the Cardiff Local Nature Partnership and the work of Shared Regulatory Services. The Cardiff Council met on 27 November 2025, and approved sending the Replacement Local Development Plan to the Welsh Government for independent examination. Councillors also agreed to launch a public consultation on introducing a visitor levy in the city.

The Environmental Scrutiny Committee met to discuss the adoption of a local heritage list and to review the annual air quality monitoring report. The committee agreed to send their comments and observations on both items to Councillor Dan De'Ath, Cabinet Member for Climate Change, Strategic Planning and Transport.
