The Derbyshire County Council is scheduled to meet on Wednesday, 10 December 2025, at County Hall in Matlock. The next Derbyshire County Council meeting will include discussions of the appointment of a new chief executive, revisions to standing orders, and budget monitoring. Councillors will also consider public and elected member questions, and several notices of motion.
Health Scrutiny Committee - Monday, 24 November 2025 10.30 am
The Health Scrutiny Committee was scheduled to discuss intermediate care services, hear an update from the East Midlands Ambulance Service (EMAS), and review its work programme. A main focus of the meeting was to be a discussion of the case for changing intermediate care services in Derby and Derbyshire. The committee was also scheduled to discuss ways to improve patient discharge and help people stay at home longer.
Extraordinary meeting, Council - Thursday, 13 November 2025 4.00 pm, NEW
The council met to discuss and vote on a recommendation to be put to the cabinet regarding local government reorganisation, and ultimately voted to support a single unitary council for the whole Derby and Derbyshire area. The council also agreed to delegate authority to the Interim Chief Executive, Simon Stevens, in discussion with Councillor Alan Graves, Leader of the Council and Cabinet Member for Strategic Leadership, to make any amendments and additions to the submission document following feedback from the full council.
