The Lewisham Health and Wellbeing Board met to discuss drug, alcohol and tobacco strategic priorities, the Lewisham Health and Wellbeing strategy, and a joint strategic needs assessment update. The board approved the Drug, Alcohol and Tobacco (DAT) strategic priorities for 2025-28 and the Lewisham Health and Wellbeing Strategy 2025-2030.

The Board confirmed the minutes of the last meeting, approved the draft Better Care Fund Plan for 2025-26 and agreed to delegate approval of the final plan to the Section75 Agreement Management group. The Board discussed the draft Lewisham Health and Wellbeing Strategy for 2025-30, the South East London Integrated Care Board’s Joint Forward Plan 2025-26, and a request for a study of health needs in Forest Hill ward.

The Healthier Communities Select Committee met on Thursday, 9 January 2025, to discuss the Lewisham Safeguarding Adults Board (LSAB) Annual Report, an update from University Hospital Lewisham, and public health commissioned services. Key decisions included noting the LSAB report, acknowledging challenges with hospital discharges and encouraging collaboration to improve them, and approving the addition of the Lewisham Hospital Migrant Charging Policy to the March 2025 agenda.

The minutes of the meeting held on the 24th of July were approved without discussion. The Board also approved the publication of a supplementary statement to the Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment (PNA)[^2] for Lewisham. The Board noted updates on the Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (JSNA) [^3], the implementation of the Birmingham Lewisham African Caribbean Health Inequalities Review (BLACHIR) [^4], and the new Lewisham Health and Wellbeing Strategy.
