The Executive of North Northamptonshire Council met on Tuesday 10 February 2026 to approve the council's final budget for 2026-27, including a council tax increase, and to adopt the Housing Revenue Account budget and Treasury Management Strategy. The meeting confirmed a balanced budget for the upcoming financial year, which includes significant investment in adult social care and children's services, alongside a 4.99% council tax increase. The North Northamptonshire Schools Forum meeting scheduled for 15 January 2026 was set to address the financial settlement for schools in the upcoming academic year, including detailed breakdowns of the Dedicated Schools Grant (DSG) and its various blocks. Discussions were also planned around the mainstream schools funding formula, central school services, early years provision, and the high needs block, alongside policies for pupil growth funding and managing funding following permanent exclusions.
