The meeting began with tributes to past Councillors Rob Hill and Burt Williams, who had recently died. Councillors then heard deputations from residents on the condition of Palace Road Nature Garden, the need for cycle hangers suitable for cargo bikes, and poor housing conditions and repairs on the Tulse Hill Estate.

The Lambeth Council Cabinet agreed to implement a number of changes to the way that it funds its services and supports residents. The council approved a new financial strategy that includes £50 million in savings over the next four years, a new SEND and Alternative Provision Strategy that aims to reduce the number of children being excluded from school, a new action plan to bring empty homes back into use, and new policies to help move homeless families into private rented accommodation.

The meeting decided to proceed with the next phase of selective licensing for landlords, despite some concerns from Councillors about the timing of the decision. This means that landlords of private rented properties in 19 wards in Lambeth will require a licence from July 2025. Separately, the meeting also agreed a series of measures aimed at reducing the number of primary school places in the borough, including the closure of two schools and two amalgamations.
