Trading Standards Joint Advisory Board - Wednesday 5 November 2025 6.00 pm

The Trading Standards Joint Advisory Board of Brent Council [^1] was scheduled to meet on Wednesday 5 November 2025 to discuss a mid-year review of Trading Standards and an update on Operation CeCe. Resources and Public Realm Scrutiny Committee - Tuesday 4 November 2025 6.00 pm

The Resources and Public Realm Scrutiny Committee meeting on 4 November 2025 reviewed the council's Quarter 2 financial forecast, noting a projected overall overspend of £14.5 million across the General Fund, Dedicated Schools Grant, and Housing Revenue Account. The committee also discussed the emerging Procurement Strategy, including a new definition of local suppliers, and the draft Social Value Policy, which aims to embed social value across all council activities. Additionally, the committee received updates on the Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) sector in Brent and the council's work programme.

Corporate Parenting Committee - Monday 13 October 2025 5.30 pm

The Brent Council Corporate Parenting Committee met to discuss the progress of several initiatives aimed at improving the lives of children in care and care leavers. The committee reviewed reports on reducing criminalisation, adoption services, and fostering services, as well as hearing updates from Brent Care Journeys 2.0 (BCJ 2.0). The committee agreed to note the reports.

Brent Pension Fund Sub-Committee - Wednesday 8 October 2025 6.00 pm

The Brent Pension Fund Sub-Committee met on 8 October 2025 to discuss the fund's performance, review the annual report and accounts, and consider the triennial valuation update and funding strategy. The sub-committee also received updates on the Local Authority Pension Fund Forum (LAPFF) engagement and member training.

Council - Monday 15 September 2025 6.00 pm

At a meeting of Brent Council, councillors debated topics ranging from local traffic concerns to international relations, and also reviewed the council's finances. The council approved a motion to push for visitor levy powers, but voted down motions on street cleaning and illegal immigration.
