Decision Sheet, Schools Forum - Thursday, 26th June, 2025 4.30 pm

The Schools Forum met on Thursday to discuss a range of financial and strategic issues affecting schools in Lewisham. These included the Dedicated Schools Grant outturn position, premature retirement costs, and the Schools Forum work plan. The forum also received a verbal update on the High Needs Block.

The Lewisham Standing Advisory Council of Religious Education (SACRE) met to discuss the Agreed Syllabus Conference, feedback from the NASACRE Conference and AGM, and the Young Mayor's project. The meeting was also scheduled to include discussion of Holocaust Memorial Day, and a review of the SACRE and ASC Code of Conduct.

The Lewisham Standing Advisory Council of Religious Education (SACRE) met on 27 March 2025 to discuss religious education (RE) at St Bartholomew's CE Primary School, the role of Lewisham's Young Mayor, and the adoption of a self-evaluation tool for schools. The meeting also included a review of the previous meeting's minutes and an update on the Agreed Syllabus Conference (ASC).

This meeting was to receive a report on the recent Jewish Life Exhibition at Catford & Bromley Synagogue, consider advice for schools about the upcoming month of Ramadan, and review a report on religious education in Lewisham schools. It also included the formal proposal that the committee request that Lewisham Council convene an Agreed Syllabus Conference to review the current Religious Education syllabus in Lewisham schools.
