International Update 2024-25

In November 2023, Strategy & Resources Policy Committee approved the proposal to establish a new Partner City Policy.  In establishing the Policy, it was proposed that an Annual Report be prepared each Municipal Year for the purposes of detailing any activity linked to the Council’s international relationships.  The first Annual Report, covering the 2023-24 Municipal Year, was presented to the Committee in February 2024.

Director of Public Health (DPH) Report - Foundations for a Healthy Future: Ending Poverty Together

The Director of Public Health has a statutory responsibility to write an annual independent report on the health of their population. The report is to raise awareness and understanding of local health issues, highlight areas of specific concern, and make recommendations for change. The 2025 report is focused on poverty in Sheffield.

Adoption of the Gambling Harms Prevention Strategy for Sheffield 2024-2034

Over the past few years there has been increasing recognition of the preventable harms from gambling industry products and practices experienced by individuals, families, communities and society as a whole.   Sheffield has been taking steps to address these harms for some time, however this report introduces the city’s first Gambling Harm Prevention Strategy.  Co-produced by the Sheffield Gambling Harms Stakeholder Group, the strategy sets out a comprehensive plan as to what we will do at a local level to prevent gambling harms in the city.
