The Constitution Committee convened to review the Annual Governance Statement (AGS) and the Constitution, recommending approval for both with a minor amendment to the latter. The 2024-25 AGS was approved, and the Director of Corporate Resources was authorised to make necessary updates aligning with the finalised Statement of Accounts and Pension Fund, with changes reported to the Corporate Governance Committee and the Leader. Proposed changes to the Constitution were recommended for approval by the County Council, pending a change to Article 6.06.

The Leicestershire County Council convened an extraordinary meeting to address the critical matter of local government reorganisation (LGR). The primary focus was to allow the County Council to comment on the proposals for LGR, with a supplementary report containing a draft Business Case also provided. Councillors were also expected to discuss the comments of the Scrutiny Commission on the proposals.

The Scrutiny Commission were scheduled to meet to discuss local government reorganisation, the council's annual delivery report, and the annual traded services strategy. The meeting was also scheduled to cover the council's financial strategy monitoring, including revenue budget and capital programme updates. Councillors were expected to comment on a draft business case for local government reorganisation and the future direction of Beaumanor Hall.

Children and Families Overview and Scrutiny Committee - Tuesday, 4 November 2025 2.00 pm

The Children and Families Overview and Scrutiny Committee were scheduled to meet on Tuesday, 4 November 2025 in the Sparkenhoe Committee Room, County Hall, Glenfield. The agenda included reviewing minutes from a prior meeting, a question time, and several reports from the Director of Children and Family Services concerning the work of the Children and Family Services Department.
