The Bromley Council Health Scrutiny Sub-Committee virtually met on 16 September 2025 to discuss general practice (GP) access, receive an update from King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, and review a patient experience report from Healthwatch Bromley. Councillor Mark Brock, Chairman of the Adult Care & Health PDS Committee and Health Scrutiny Sub-Committee, was scheduled to chair the meeting. Members of the press and public were able to view the meeting by contacting the clerk to request joining details for the virtual meeting.

Adult Care and Health Policy Development and Scrutiny Committee - Tuesday 9 September 2025 7.00 pm

The Adult Care and Health Policy Development and Scrutiny Committee met to discuss the Adult Care and Health portfolio's budget, scrutinise the delivery of the Tackling Loneliness Strategy, review contract monitoring for learning disabilities support, and receive an update on the Adult Services Transformation and Improvement Programme. The committee noted a projected overspend of £9.842m for the Adult Social Care budget and reviewed the progress of the Tackling Loneliness Strategy, which has seen positive results, including increased confidence among befriending service users. The committee also reviewed contract performance for learning disabilities supported living services and discussed the annual monitoring report for the Primary and Secondary Intervention Service (PSIS), known as Bromley Well.

Council - Monday 7 July 2025 7.00 pm

At a meeting of Bromley Council, Councillor Jonathan Andrews was formally appointed as the new Mayor of Bromley, and Councillor Gemma Turrell was appointed as the Deputy Mayor. Councillors also discussed and approved changes to the council's capital programme, treasury management, financial regulations, contract procedure rules, local planning protocol and scheme of delegation to officers. Finally, they considered the Health and Wellbeing Board annual report and the Local Pension Board annual report.

The Bromley Council Health and Wellbeing Board was scheduled to meet on 26 June 2025 to discuss a number of strategies and plans relating to health and wellbeing in the borough. These included the Bromley Mental Health and Wellbeing Strategy, the Learning Disabilities Strategy, the Suicide Prevention Plan, and the Lambeth, Southwark, Lewisham, Bexley and Bromley Sexual and Reproductive Health and HIV Strategy. Also on the agenda was neighbourhood health service development in Bromley, and a review of the board's work programme.

...to add the Chipperfield Road Site to the Capital Programme, approve the submission of the Chipperfield scheme to the Local Authority Housing Fund 4 programme, accept an estimated £27.633m in funding for the scheme, approve the addition of Chipperfield Road to the Capital Programme at a value of £71.417m, approve the submission and acceptance of other grants, approve procurement actions for a Multi-Disciplinary Design Team and the main Chipperfield Road Works contract, agree to public consultation and submission of a Planning Application, note the foregoing of an estimated Capital receipt of circa £5m, authorise the appropriation for planning purposes of the land surplus to operational need at the Chipperfield Road site, delegate authority to the Director of Corporate Services to sign and execute all legal documentation relating to the appropriation for Planning purposes, approve the cost of the planned appointment of two FTE Project Managers, and note that the scheme will be progressed subject to a Secretary of State Direction regarding the Housing Revenue Account.
