Climate Action, Environment and Highways Policy and Scrutiny Committee - Thursday 25th September, 2025 6.30 pm

The Climate Action, Environment and Highways Policy and Scrutiny Committee met to discuss the impact of the parking fee structure review, and the work and management of the City Inspectors, including the street-based intervention team. The committee recommended that the council consider expanding the current bands listed for pay to parking, give additional thought to how it can make parking easy and affordable for tradespeople, increase outreach with businesses that interact with the city inspectors, arrange neighbourhood coordination meetings outside of traditional working hours, engage with the Football Association to work towards an agreement whereby clubs would contribute to the cost of cleanup for mass fan gathering events, promote the positive contributions of city inspectors, and ensure ward councillors are adequately informed with regards to incidents that might emerge in their ward. The committee also reviewed and approved the committee work programme for forthcoming meetings.

Council - Wednesday 10th September, 2025 7.00 pm

The City of Westminster Council met on 10 September 2025, and began by electing Councillor Hamza Taouzzale as Relief Chair for the meeting. Councillors then heard questions from the public on topics ranging from policing to street lighting, and debated issues including pedestrianisation of Oxford Street, homelessness, and street cleaning. The council also received and noted the Annual Report of Policy and Scrutiny Activity in 2024/25 and the Annual Report of the Audit and Performance Committee 2024/25.

Pension Fund Committee - Thursday 17th July, 2025 6.30 pm

The Pension Fund Committee of Westminster Council was scheduled to meet on 17 July 2025 to discuss a number of items. The most significant item for discussion was the proposed disinvestment from the LCIV Global Alpha Growth Fund – Paris Aligned, as well as passive equity options for reinvestment. The committee was also scheduled to discuss membership and declarations of interest.

The Climate Action, Environment and Highways Policy and Scrutiny Committee were scheduled to discuss the sustainable transport strategy, the waste and cleansing service contract procurement, and the committee's work programme.

Pension Fund Committee - Thursday 26th June, 2025 6.30 pm

The Pension Fund Committee of Westminster Council scheduled a meeting to discuss pension administration, financial management, investment performance, and governance-related updates. A key focus was to be on reviewing the fund's performance and considering new investment strategies, including those aligned with environmental goals. The committee was also expected to discuss the implementation of a salary sacrifice scheme and the outcomes of a pensions review.
