Portfolio Holder Decisions/Leader Decisions - Friday 12 December 2025 12.00 pm

Warwickshire County Council's Portfolio Holders convened to discuss and make decisions on several key issues. Councillor Jennifer Warren, Portfolio Holder for Transport and Planning, approved an increase in on-street parking charges in select areas, while Councillor Wayne Briggs, Portfolio Holder for Education, initiated consultations for establishing SEND [^2] resourced provisions at two schools; in his absence, Councillor George Finch, Leader of the Council and Portfolio Holder for Children & Families, took the decision in his capacity as Leader of the Council. Additionally, Councillor Stephen Shaw, Deputy Leader and Portfolio Holder for Finance and Property, approved the council's response to a consultation on Local Government Pension Scheme improvements and gave the go-ahead for government-funded transport schemes.

Cabinet - Thursday 11 December 2025 1.45 pm

At a meeting of the Warwickshire Council Cabinet, key decisions were made regarding the 2026/27 budget, education, employment, and risk management. The Cabinet endorsed the Annual Education Sufficiency Update and approved additions to the Education Capital Programme for multiple schools. Additionally, they approved the Get Warwickshire Working Plan and authorised the procurement of supported lodgings for young people aged 16-21, as well as the updated Strategic Risk Management Framework.

Children & Young People Overview and Scrutiny Committee - Tuesday 25 November 2025 10.00 am

The Children & Young People Overview and Scrutiny Committee are scheduled to discuss a range of issues at their meeting on 25 November. These include updates from cabinet portfolio holders, the work of the Corporate Parenting Panel, performance reports, post-16 education, Ofsted inspections, school outcomes, and family hubs. The committee will also review its work programme and items on the forward plan.

Additional meeting, Resources and Fire & Rescue Overview and Scrutiny Committee - Thursday 20 November 2025 11.00 am

The Resources and Fire & Rescue Overview and Scrutiny Committee met to discuss updates on the Wheat Street development in Nuneaton and the Resourcing to Risk programme for Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service (WFRS). The committee reviewed the financial aspects of the Wheat Street development, and heard that the Resourcing to Risk programme is largely on track, with improvements seen in response times and resource availability.

Corporate Parenting Panel - Monday 17 November 2025 10.00 am

The Corporate Parenting Panel of Warwickshire Council met on 17 November 2025 to discuss updates from the Chair and Directors, updates from the Voice, Influence & Change Team, performance data, the Virtual School Head Report, the Fostering Annual Report, the Kinship Offer, and the development of the Work Programme and Items on the Forward Plan. Verbal updates were scheduled to be presented in relation to each of Warwickshire's Children's Homes.
