Scrutiny Coordinating Committee - Thursday, 19th September, 2024 7.00 pm
This meeting was the first of the 2024-25 municipal year. The meeting received reports on the Corporate Performance Framework, the draft Scrutiny Annual Report, and the forward plans for the Coordinating Committee and all of the other Scrutiny Committees.
Application for the Grant of a Premises Licence: The Drink Factory , 5 Market Parade, 323 Forest Road, Walthamstow, E17 6DY, Licensing Act 2003 Sub-Committee - Tuesday, 23rd July, 2024 1.00 pm
The Licensing Sub-Committee met to decide on an application for a new off-licence at 5 Market Parade, 323 Forest Road in Walthamstow. The applicant, Mr Keith Joseph, sought permission for the sale of alcohol for consumption off the premises, and for the shop to be open to the public between 8am and midnight every day. After hearing from the applicant, and considering representations made by residents, the Sub-Committee agreed to grant the licence with conditions and amended hours.
Scrutiny Coordinating Committee - Tuesday, 23rd July, 2024 7.00 pm
This meeting included the first iteration of a new way of measuring and capturing the council's corporate performance, as well as an update on corporate performance for the period beginning January 2024 and ending March 2024. The committee was also scheduled to review the draft work programmes of all of the council's scrutiny committees, as well as the Cabinet Forward Plan.

The Council voted to welcome the new Labour government and to write to the Prime Minister to offer their congratulations. Councillors also voted to adopt a new Civility in Public Life action plan, and to approve the transfer of planning powers back to the Council from the LLDC.
Grant of a premises licence: East London Chicken and Pizza, 250 High Road, Leyton, E10 5PW, Licensing Act 2003 Sub-Committee - Tuesday, 25th June, 2024 1.00 pm
Waltham Forest Council's Licensing Sub-Committee met to consider an application for a new premises licence for East London Chicken and Pizza at 148 Hoe Street, Walthamstow. The committee refused to grant the licence.
