The People Scrutiny Committee of Derbyshire County Council met on 3 October 2025 to discuss a call-in regarding the decision to declare five county council buildings as surplus to service need, and to receive a briefing on Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) and inclusion. The committee was also scheduled to confirm the minutes of their meeting held on 17 March 2025 and to answer questions from the public.

Place Scrutiny Committee - Wednesday, 24 September 2025 10.30 am

The Place Scrutiny Committee was scheduled to meet to discuss the East Midlands Combined County Authority [^2] (EMCCA) and the transition of transport functions to it. The committee was expected to receive an update on the progress of EMCCA and the transfer of transport responsibilities from Derbyshire County Council.

Audit Committee - Tuesday, 16 September 2025 2.00 pm

The Derbyshire County Council Audit Committee met on 16 September 2025 to discuss corporate risk management, the strategic risk register, the effectiveness of internal controls, and the Derbyshire Pension Fund audit. The committee reviewed the strategic risk register, identifying risks needing further assurance, and noted the plan for Executive Director attendance at future meetings. The committee also reviewed and approved the updated Whistleblowing Policy.

Place Scrutiny Committee - Wednesday, 23 July 2025 10.30 am

The Place Scrutiny Committee was scheduled to discuss an overview of the Place Department, the Highways function, and the proposed work programme for 2025-26. Presentations were planned to provide committee members with information on these topics. Public questions were also scheduled to be taken.

Council - Wednesday, 9 July 2025 2.00 pm

The Derbyshire County Council met to discuss local government reorganisation, the 2024-25 budget, and performance monitoring. Councillors agreed to undertake public and key stakeholder engagement to seek views about alternative options for local government reorganisation to inform the preparation of final proposals. They also approved the performance and budget monitoring outturn for 2024-25, and changes to committee memberships.
