Councillors approved an application for a field shelter for horses in Lanner, and approved an application to convert a commercial building in Redruth into residential dwellings and houses of multiple occupancy (HMOs).

The West Sub-Area Planning Committee of Cornwall Council met on Monday 18 August 2025, and refused an application for the construction of four dwellinghouses in Redruth, while granting delegated authority for approval of a self-build single storey dwelling in St Day, subject to conditions. The committee also noted a list of planning appeal decisions.

Miscellaneous Licensing Committee - Friday, 15th August, 2025 10.30 am

The Miscellaneous Licensing Committee of Cornwall Council met on 15 August 2025, to discuss several licensing applications and reviews. The committee refused applications for Hackney Carriages that did not meet policy specifications, reviewed existing Hackney Carriage licenses, and made decisions on granting new licenses based on whether applicants were deemed fit and proper persons. The committee also observed a two minute silence at 12pm as a mark of respect for the 80th anniversary of VJ Day.

Cornwall Council - Tuesday, 22nd July, 2025 10.30 am

Cornwall Council scheduled a meeting for 22 July 2025, to discuss a range of topics from public questions to motions regarding devolution, health priorities, and environmental concerns. Also on the agenda was the Audit Committee Annual Report, re-appointment of a Harbours Board member, and the Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Vehicle Licensing Policy.

The West Sub-Area Planning Committee of Cornwall Council met on 21 July 2025, and approved the demolition of a dwelling in Hayle, and the conversion of farm buildings in Redruth, while also delegating authority to the Chief Planning Officer for both. They also deferred a decision on the construction of houses in Redruth pending a site inspection, and refused permission in principle for a housing scheme in Helston.
