Cardiff Council's Cabinet is scheduled to convene on Thursday, 19 March 2026, with a packed agenda covering a range of significant local issues. Key discussions are expected to revolve around the city's transport infrastructure, including the proposed Cardiff Active Travel Network Map and the awarding of a construction contract for Cardiff Crossrail Phase 1A. The Cabinet will also consider the Child Friendly Cardiff UNICEF Reaccreditation Assessment, school admission arrangements for the upcoming academic year, and the Council's Pay Policy Statement for 2026/27. Welsh Language Standards: Annual Report 2024/25

Local Authorities have a statutory duty under section 44 of the Welsh Language [Wales] Measure 2011 to comply with regulation ‘Welsh language standards’. Cardiff Council is under a duty to comply with standards relating to producing and publishing an Annual Report. This will be the eighth annual report produced under the Welsh language standards.

Adoption of updated Local flood Risk Management Strategy and Action Plans

Cardiff Council has been designated as the Lead Local Flood Authority (LLFA) under the Flood and Water Management Act 2010 (FWMA) and as such has several statutory duties. One such duty of the LLFA is to develop and adopt a Local Flood Risk Management Strategy ensuring the application and monitoring of the strategy throughout its life cycle.
