Housing Scrutiny Committee - Tuesday, 12th November, 2024 6.30 pm
The Housing Scrutiny Committee noted updates on the Housing Transformation Programme, anti-social behaviour (ASB) policy, rough sleeping services review, estate parking strategy, and homelessness scrutiny panel actions. It also reviewed a report from the Cabinet Member for Better Homes. It was agreed that the Asset Management Strategy (Cabinet Report) would now be presented at the January 2025 meeting instead of the December 2024 meeting. A deputation on Holmes Road Depot and its direct labour force was received from Alice Brown, Climate Emergency, who expressed concern about the lack of publicly available data on the amount of work done by the direct labour force compared to contractors and subcontractors. Brown argued for greater transparency in procurement processes to tackle the climate emergency effectively.
Health and Adult Social Care Scrutiny Committee - Tuesday, 5th November, 2024 6.30 pm
The Committee noted the contents of all of the reports presented to it. Visits to Change Grow Live's Substance Misuse Service will be arranged for committee members. Training will be provided to Members on the safeguarding framework for the protection of adults with care and support needs. The Committee requested that future annual reports provide information on the work of the Disability Oversight Panel.
Housing and Fire Safety Advisory Panel - Tuesday, 22nd October, 2024 6.30 pm
The Housing and Fire Safety Advisory Panel met to receive a wide-ranging update on fire safety, gas, asbestos, water and electrical safety in the borough's social housing stock. The meeting also considered a report on progress in implementing the Council's Fire and Building Safety Charter.
Disability Oversight Panel - Tuesday, 15th October, 2024 5.00 pm
The Disability Oversight Panel met to consider an update on the implementation of their special educational needs and disability strategy.
