Recommissioning of Day Opportunities

The Community Opportunities Framework is a new contract structure which covers a range of community opportunities to provide appropriate social inclusion and carer relief, so that people can live independent, safe and active lives. It will offer flexible, high-quality support, with a focus on connecting people to their communities, maximising independence, and helping to prevent admission into long term residential care or hospital.   This report will seek approval of the commissioning intentions for the Framework and to delegate the award of contracts to deliver these services, following a competitive procurement exercise, to the Director of Adult Social Care and Prevention.

Grant Funding and Agreements – Mercury Prize 2025

To accept a grant from the North East Combined Authority contributing £250,000 towards the total cost of hosting the Mercury Prize in the city, marketing, City Dressing and Fringe programme throughout Newcastle and the wider North East in October 2025. To issue a Grant Funding Agreement to Generator North East Limited awarding a total of up to £100,000 taken from the contribution from the North East Combined Authority for the purpose of producing the Fringe programme throughout Newcastle and the wider North East in October 2025. To enter into a contract with Mercury Prize Limited giving exclusive hosting and sponsorship rights for the Mercury Prize in 2025.
