Licensing Committee - Tuesday, 21st May, 2024 6.20 pm

The Licensing Committee met and set the schedule of Licensing Sub-Committee meetings for the 2024/2025 municipal year. They also agreed the membership of each of the four sub-committees, and appointed a Chair and Vice-Chair for each one. The minutes of the meeting held on 12 March 2024 [^1] were agreed.

Annual Council

Annual Council - Thursday, 16th May, 2024 7.30 pm

Councillor Anjna Khurana was elected as Mayor of Islington for 2024/25, with Councillor Jason Jackson as her deputy. Outgoing Mayor, Councillor Gary Heather, was thanked for his service to the borough. Councillor Kaya Comer-Schwartz announced a refreshed Executive, with new responsibilities and some changes in personnel. The Council also approved a number of constitutional amendments relating to the operation of scrutiny, changes to the Members’ Allowances Scheme and procurement rules, and the membership and terms of reference for the Council’s committees.

Licensing Committee - Tuesday, 12th March, 2024 6.30 pm

The Licensing Committee received the Late-Night Levy Annual Report, discussed the role of Operation Nightsafe and the new Operation Leuctra, noted that discussion of the Draft Culture Strategy would be deferred to a future meeting, and received and discussed a guidance note about the relationship between planning and licensing.
