Children and Families Scrutiny Committee - Tuesday, 1st July, 2025 7.00 pm

The Children and Families Scrutiny Committee was scheduled to meet on 1 July 2025 to discuss the findings of a recent inspection regarding special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) arrangements in Waltham Forest, and to review the committee's forward plan for the coming year. The Audit and Governance Committee of Waltham Forest Council met on 6 May 2025 to consider a range of reports related to the council's financial and governance arrangements. The agenda included updates on school finances, the final statement of accounts, accounting policies, grant certifications, anti-fraud activities, internal audit progress, and the annual governance statement.

Children and Families Scrutiny Committee - Wednesday, 30th April, 2025 7.00 pm

The Children and Families Scrutiny Committee were scheduled to meet on 30 April 2025 at Waltham Forest Town Hall to discuss the Waltham Forest Catering Service's Service Level Agreement (SLA) with schools, and to review the action and recommendation trackers. Councillor Yusuf Patel, Chair of the Committee, was expected to chair the meeting. This was scheduled to be the final meeting for the municipal year, and the committee were expected to suggest items for the 2025/26 draft work programme for the incoming committee.

Council - Thursday, 24th April, 2025 7.30 pm

At a meeting of the Waltham Forest Council, councillors approved an updated Local Development Scheme and declared a Nature Emergency in the borough. The council also paid tribute to former Councillor Mohammad Asghar, father of Councillor Naheed Asghar, Portfolio Lead Member - Inclusive Economy, who had recently passed away.
