Licensing Committee - Tuesday, 17th December, 2024 6.20 pm
The Licensing Committee meeting on 17 December 2024 included an agenda item on the proposed changes to the membership of one of its Licensing Sub-Committees, as well as the confirmation of the minutes of the previous meeting.
Council - Thursday, 12th December, 2024 7.15 pm
At the meeting on 12 December, the council made a number of decisions. The council approved the adoption of a new Council Tax Support Scheme. Councillors voted to note the annual Armed Forces Covenant Annual Report. Councillors noted the political balance of the council, following the results of a by-election and the recent formation of the Independent and Green Group. Councillors voted to adopt an updated constitution, and approved a series of new committee appointments. Finally, councillors discussed and then voted to adopt two motions: one on giving refugees time to resettle, and a second on winter fuel allowance.
Extraordinary, Council - Tuesday, 19th November, 2024 6.30 pm, NEW
Councillor Una O'Halloran was elected as the new leader of Islington Council. She is the first leader of the council to have been born and raised in the borough, and the first to have been a lifelong council tenant. She was elected unanimously by councillors after being proposed and seconded by Labour councillors, and welcomed by councillors from the Green party.
Licensing Committee - Tuesday, 8th October, 2024 6.20 pm
The Licensing Committee of Islington Council was scheduled to consider changes to the membership of one of its sub-committees. The Committee was also scheduled to receive and note the minutes of its previous meeting which took place on 21 May 2024.
Council - Thursday, 19th September, 2024 7.15 pm
The meeting included announcements from the Mayor and the Leader of the Council. It then moved on to consider a petition calling for the Council to divest funds from institutions engaged in illegal occupations and crimes against humanity. The Council then approved seven motions that had been submitted by Councillors. It also approved a number of reports, including a report on the Council’s budget, and made a number of appointments.
