Warwickshire County Council met to discuss and comment on proposals for unitary local government in Warwickshire, with a final decision delegated to the cabinet. The council voted to recommend that the cabinet consider the importance of town and parish councils, that full constituent membership of the West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA) would be the best arrangement, and that a single unitary council for Warwickshire is the optimum model for local governance. Amendments to the proposals were put forward but were all rejected.

Resources and Fire & Rescue Overview and Scrutiny Committee - Wednesday 24 September 2025 2.00 pm

The Resources and Fire & Rescue Overview and Scrutiny Committee met to discuss several key issues, including fire service resources, library performance, the council's financial position, and treasury management. The committee agreed to the recommendations in the Quarter 1 Integrated Performance Report 2025/26 and heard that library visits are up 11% year on year. Special Meeting, Resources and Fire & Rescue Overview and Scrutiny Committee - Monday 22 September 2025 10.00 am

The Resources and Fire & Rescue Overview and Scrutiny Committee met to discuss a new flag policy and a compulsory purchase order (CPO) for the Wheat Street/Leicester Road area in Nuneaton. Councillors voted against a proposal to send the flag policy back to the cabinet for further discussion, and also voted against a proposal to publish the reasons behind decisions on whether or not to allow a flag to be flown. The committee agreed to hold a future meeting to examine the Wheat Street/Leicester Road CPO in greater detail.

County Council - Tuesday 22 July 2025 10.00 am

The meeting of the Warwickshire County Council on 22 July 2025 included a debate on developer contributions to the School Lane Junction scheme, which was ultimately deferred, and a tied vote on the appointment of political assistants, which was decided by the Chair's casting vote. The council also discussed additions to the education capital programme, the Audit and Standards Committee annual report, and a motion supporting the climate emergency declaration.
