The Safeguarding and Education Overview and Scrutiny Committee met to discuss the Staffordshire Domestic Abuse Strategy, the Children and Families Strategic Improvement Plan, and the Care Leavers Strategy and Local Offer. The committee agreed to support the new Staffordshire Domestic Abuse Strategy, which will be presented to the cabinet for approval in January 2026. The committee also discussed improvements to children's services and the support offered to care leavers in Staffordshire.

The Staffordshire Council Cabinet met to discuss a range of issues, including renewable energy policy, the performance of Nexus Care Trading, and treasury management. The cabinet approved recommendations relating to a renewable energy policy position, the Nexus Care Trading annual report, and the half-yearly treasury management report. They also received updates on business in Staffordshire and the leader's activities.

Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent Joint Archives Committee - Tuesday 18th November 2025 10:00am

The Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent Joint Archives Committee met to discuss the Joint Archive Service's forecast outturn for 2025-26, and to review the Joint Archive Service Collections Policy. The committee was also scheduled to discuss feedback on the Joint Archive Service Annual Report.

Additional Cabinet, Cabinet - Tuesday 4th November 2025 10:00am

Staffordshire County Council's Cabinet met to discuss and approve the council's proposal for local government reorganisation (LGR) to be submitted to the government. The Cabinet agreed to submit the proposal, associated appendices, and any final amendments to the government by the deadline of 28 November 2025. Councillor Ian Cooper, Leader of the Council, noted that the council was being forced to consider LGR by central government, and that the council would also be writing to the Prime Minister to object to the reorganisation.
