2025-26 Budget Setting, Council - Wednesday 26 February 2025 7.00 pm
This meeting was the last meeting of Hackney Council for the 2024/25 municipal year, and included a wide-ranging set of reports, a review of the proposed budget for 2025/26 and a number of motions submitted by the Green and Labour groups.

At this meeting, the Children and Young People Scrutiny Commission discussed its in-depth review of behaviour management and school inclusion, its response to the School Estates & Education Sufficiency Strategy, and the response from the Minister of State for Early Education to its concerns about unregistered educational settings.
Skills, Economy and Growth Scrutiny Commission - Monday 17 February 2025 7.00 pm
The Skills, Economy and Growth Scrutiny Commission received a presentation on jobs and skills outcomes in Hackney. It also discussed the Economic Development Plan at its next meeting, and the Council's sustainable transport plans at its meeting in April.
Children and Young People Scrutiny Commission - Monday 13 January 2025 7.00 pm
The meeting discussed the welfare of children in temporary accommodation, the Young Futures Programme, and the Race and SEND Inclusion Charter, and confirmed that a letter had been sent to the Secretary of State for Education to set out concerns about the lack of regulation for unregistered educational settings. The commission also discussed the scope for a review of behaviour policies in Hackney schools.
Skills, Economy and Growth Scrutiny Commission - Monday 20 January 2025 7.00 pm
The meeting received presentations from Hackney Council staff and Trade Union representatives about the implementation of the Hackney Libraries Strategy (2022-2026) and the new library staffing structure. The Committee also discussed a refresh of the Hackney Voluntary and Community Sector (VCS) Strategy. Councillors noted the presentations and asked questions.
