Planning Committee - Wednesday 8th October, 2025 7.00 pm
The North Northamptonshire Council Planning Committee met to discuss planning applications for a nursery in Rushden, a property in Kettering, and land in Braybrooke. The committee approved the application for residential development at Jack And Jill Nursery, Rushden, subject to a condition regarding fencing. They also approved the change of use of a retail unit to a house in multiple occupation (HMO) in Kettering, and the construction of five dwellings in Braybrooke.
Licensing Panel - Thursday 25th September, 2025 9.30 am
The Licensing Panel of North Northamptonshire Council met on Thursday 25 September 2025 to discuss a number of licensing issues. The panel was scheduled to consider a request for dispensation from the council's Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Licensing Policy, as well as several reports regarding the fitness of individuals to hold private hire driver licences. The meeting was scheduled to be available for the public to view via the council's Democratic Services' YouTube channel.
Health Scrutiny Committee - Tuesday 16th September, 2025 7.00 pm
The Health Scrutiny Committee met to discuss the Director of Public Health's annual report, focusing on the Health and Wellbeing Strategy 2024-2029, particularly progress in smoking/vaping and keeping active; members agreed to receive an update in six months on health inequalities and actions taken by local area partnerships, for public health to continue engaging the voluntary sector, and for future reports to review progress against current themes. The committee also requested a presentation on a diagram for animation encapsulating factors that impact life expectancy.
Planning Committee - Wednesday 10th September, 2025 7.00 pm
At a meeting of the North Northamptonshire Council Planning Committee, councillors resolved to approve applications for a new classroom block at Sir Christopher Hatton School, the demolition of buildings at Kettering Leisure Park for open storage, the construction of a padel tennis court at Glapthorn Primary School, and the conversion of Her Majesty's Court House in Kettering into flats.
