Additional meeting, Education and Young People Overview & Scrutiny Committee - Friday, 30 January 2026 10.00 am

The Education and Young People Overview & Scrutiny Committee of Oxfordshire County Council met on Friday 30 January 2026 to discuss the progress of the Local Area Partnership's SEND monitoring and Priority Action Plan, and to review draft guidance for Education Other Than At School (EOTAS). The committee agreed to several recommendations regarding the sustainability of SEND support, the role of resource bases, and the transition pathway for children moving from primary to secondary resource bases. They also agreed that the EOTAS guidance should be presented in a more accessible format for parents.

County Council - Tuesday, 9 December 2025 10.30 am

The Oxfordshire County Council meeting on 9 December 2025 included discussion of a proposal to submit an Expression of Interest for a Mayoral Strategic Authority, a review of member allowances, and reports on gender and ethnicity pay gaps. Also on the agenda was a mid-term review of treasury management and a review of member champions. Several motions were put forward for consideration, covering topics such as emergency planning for reservoir discharges, community cohesion, mental health services, men's health awareness, and pavement weed clearance.

The Education and Young People Overview & Scrutiny Committee were scheduled to meet on 21 November 2025 to discuss attainment, the Virtual School annual report, and fostering services. The committee was also expected to discuss co-optee recruitment and review its forward work plan. Additionally, responses to previous scrutiny recommendations were scheduled to be noted.

People Overview & Scrutiny Committee - Thursday, 6 November 2025 10.00 am

The People Overview and Scrutiny Committee were scheduled to discuss a Care Quality Commission (CQC) feedback report, inequalities across Oxfordshire, and the transition of young people into adulthood. The committee, led by Councillor Ian Snowdon, Deputy Leader of Oxfordshire Alliance and Shadow Cabinet Member for Place, Environment & Climate Action, was also scheduled to review its work programme and action tracker.

County Council - Tuesday, 4 November 2025 11.00 am

The Oxfordshire County Council meeting scheduled for 4 November 2025 included an address by the Lord Lieutenant of Oxfordshire, Mrs Marjorie Glasgow BEM, and consideration of the new strategic plan, changes to financial regulations and the youth justice annual plan. Councillors were also expected to discuss a number of motions, including one to end the Oxford Congestion Charge scheme.
