The Licensing Sub-Committee was scheduled to consider an application for a new premises licence for AJ Restaurant and Bar at 11 John Ruskin Street in Camberwell Green. The application had been subject to representations from four responsible authorities - The Metropolitan Police Service, Environmental Protection, Trading Standards, and Licensing - and also from nine members of the public. All of the responsible authorities were scheduled to withdraw their representations having agreed revised operating hours and conditions with the applicant.

The meeting approved the Southwark 2030 strategy, the Old Kent Road Area Action Plan: 2024 Draft and noted the Treasury Management – Mid-Year Update 2024-25.

Education and Local Economy Scrutiny Commission - Monday 18 November 2024 7.00 pm

The meeting was scheduled to hear presentations from a range of people on a range of topics, including Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), the inclusion of children in schools, and the proposed work programme for 2024-2025. The most significant topic scheduled for discussion was the inclusion of children in schools, with reports about the rates of persistent absenteeism and permanent exclusion in the borough's schools.

Licensing Sub-Committee - Thursday 7 November 2024 10.00 am

This meeting was about whether to grant four new premises licences under the Licensing Act 2003 to The Arch Company Properties Limited at Arches 36, 37, 38 and 39 America Street, London SE1 0NJ. The applications cover four adjacent railway arches that are currently vacant. Each application requested permission for the sale of alcohol, late night refreshment, and the provision of live and recorded music.
