Richmond upon Thames Council convened to bestow the honour of Honorary Freeman of the Borough upon Sir Vince Cable, recognising his decades of public service and contributions to the Twickenham constituency. The motion, proposed by Councillor Gareth Roberts, Leader of the Council, and seconded by Councillor Andrée Frieze, Leader of the Opposition, was unanimously approved. Sir Vince Cable accepted the honour with a speech reflecting on his 50 years in the borough and his political career.

Policy and Performance Review Board - Tuesday, 21 October 2025 7.00 pm

The Policy and Performance Review Board (PPRB) met to discuss management of highway grass verges, the community toilet scheme, domestic retrofits, and the use of artificial intelligence (AI). The board agreed to several recommendations, including further investigation of resident concerns regarding grass verge management, exploring options to improve the community toilet scheme, and continuing to monitor the implementation of domestic retrofit initiatives. The board also requested a follow-up report on AI in the coming years.

A motion on parking charges for large vehicles was also rejected, and a motion on the impact of fair funding review was approved.
