The General Purposes Committee met to discuss preparations for the 2026 elections, local authority governor applications, and updates to the council's constitution. The committee approved changes to part A of the constitution and agreed to send the updated committee procedure rules to the full council for approval, unless further feedback is received.

Standards Advisory Committee - Wednesday, 3rd December, 2025 6.30 p.m.

The Standards Advisory Committee is scheduled to meet to discuss updates to the register of interests, improvements to political culture, and the handling of code of conduct matters. The committee will also look at the outcome of a government consultation on member conduct and consider dispensations under the Localism Act.

Council - Wednesday, 19th November, 2025 7.00 p.m.

The Council of Tower Hamlets Council was scheduled to meet on Wednesday, 19 November 2025, to discuss a range of issues, including the submission of the local plan to the Secretary of State, petitions received from residents, and motions submitted by both the administration and opposition groups. The meeting was also scheduled to include a review of the Overview and Scrutiny Committee's annual report.

Children and Education Scrutiny Sub-Committee - Tuesday, 18th November, 2025 6.30 p.m.

The Children and Education Scrutiny Sub-Committee is scheduled to meet on 18 November 2025 to discuss child exploitation and serious youth violence, and corporate parenting accountability. The meeting will be held in the Council Chamber at the Town Hall, Whitechapel. The meeting is open to the public and will be broadcast on the council's website.

Strategic Development Committee - Wednesday, 12th November, 2025 6.30 p.m.

The Strategic Development Committee convened to discuss two planning applications, one concerning the redevelopment of Kedge House, Starboard Way and Winch House, and the other focusing on land at Fleet Street Hill. Both applications were approved, subject to conditions and planning obligations.
