Extraordinary Council Meeting, Council - Thursday 23 October 2025 6.00 pm
The Hackney Council meeting on 23 October 2025 convened to address a cross-party motion concerning the council's ties with Israel amidst the ongoing conflict in Gaza. The council did not carry the original motion put forward by the Green Party and Hackney Independent Socialist Group. Instead, the council voted to approve recommendations outlined in the Labour group's amended motion.
Planning Sub-Committee - Wednesday 8 October 2025 6.30 pm
The Hackney Council Planning Sub-Committee met on 8 October 2025, to discuss several planning applications, including a large development at the Shoreditch Island Site, the construction of new residential dwellings on the Nye Bevan Estate, and the change of use of existing properties to children's homes at 38 Firsby Road and 15 Triangle Road. The sub-committee approved the minutes from the previous meeting, and also approved all of the planning applications that were discussed, with the exception of the application for 9 Clifden Road, which was deferred.
