The Melton Council met to discuss and approve the Melton Mowbray Town Centre Design Guidance Supplementary Planning Document (SPD), aiming to enhance the town centre's appeal and functionality, and also formally recognised the sacrifice and bravery of armed forces during the war with Japan 80 years ago. Councillors also approved the Treasury Management Annual Report 2024/25, the Reinstatement of Melton Country Park Bridge, and the Safer Melton Partnership Strategic Plan.

Licensing Committee (Taxi and General) - Thursday, 4th September, 2025 6.30 pm

The Licensing Committee (Taxi and General) reviewed the Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Licensing Policy, supporting an 8-week public consultation for the 2026 policy, and received a performance report on the work carried out by the Licensing Team. The committee delegated authority to the Director of Place and Prosperity to consider consultation responses and amend the draft policy as needed, in consultation with the committee chair.

Licensing Committee (Alcohol and Gambling) - Thursday, 4th September, 2025 7.00 pm

The Licensing Committee (Alcohol and Gambling) met to discuss the Licensing Performance Report (Alcohol and Gambling) 2024/25 and review the work carried out by the Licensing Team. The committee agreed to receive the performance report annually. They also approved an increase to the Pre-Construction Services Agreement (PCSA) with GF Tomlinson for the Stockyard project to £988,930.
