Community & Adult Services Scrutiny Committee - Monday, 15th December, 2025 4.30 pm
The Community & Adult Services Scrutiny Committee are scheduled to discuss the Neurodivergent Cardiff Strategy, council housing rent and service charges, and changes to the council's allocation policy at their meeting on 15 December. The committee, chaired by Councillor Bablin Molik, will also review the minutes of their previous meeting. As this is a scrutiny committee, any comments, observations and concerns will be passed on to the relevant Cabinet Member by Councillor Bablin Molik.
Council - Thursday, 27th November, 2025 4.30 pm
The Cardiff Council met on 27 November 2025, and approved sending the Replacement Local Development Plan to the Welsh Government for independent examination. Councillors also agreed to launch a public consultation on introducing a visitor levy in the city.
Community & Adult Services Scrutiny Committee - Monday, 17th November, 2025 4.30 pm
The Community & Adult Services Scrutiny Committee met to discuss direct payments, performance reports, winter planning for homelessness, and correspondence. The committee agreed to write to the cabinet member to convey their observations and made recommendations to improve direct payment safeguarding and to build stronger relationships between housing and faith groups.
Local Authority Governor Panel - Monday, 17th November, 2025 2.00 pm
The Local Authority Governor Panel met to discuss local authority school governor vacancies. This included a review of existing vacancies, and future vacancies. The Panel also considered nominations to fill these positions.
Council - Thursday, 23rd October, 2025 4.30 pm
The Cardiff Council meeting on 23 October 2025 addressed a range of issues, including the approval of the Local Authority Social Services Annual Report 2024/2025, and the 9th Cardiff Local Development Plan Annual Report. Councillors also discussed the Statement of Accounts 2024/2025, and the Standards and Ethics Annual Report. A key debate emerged around a proposed surcharge for oversized vehicles, framed as an environmental measure but criticised as a regressive tax.
