Community & Adult Services Scrutiny Committee - Monday, 15th September, 2025 4.30 pm

The Community & Adult Services Scrutiny Committee met to discuss adult services, the care workforce, and antisocial behaviour in Cardiff. The committee agreed to a draft work programme for 2025-26, with amendments to include further scrutiny of physical disability, learning disability, older people's services, community safety, and care home commissioning. The committee will write to Councillor Leonora Thomson, Cabinet Member for Adult Services and Public Health & Equality, and Councillor Thorne, Cabinet Member for Housing and Communities, to convey their observations and concerns.

Local Authority Governor Panel - Monday, 15th September, 2025 2.00 pm

The Local Authority Governor Panel met on 15 September 2025 to discuss local authority school governor vacancies. The panel approved recommendations for appointments to current vacancies, and also approved recommendations for future vacancies, with one decision deferred. The panel also agreed the minutes of the previous meeting held on 16 June 2025[^2].

Interviews, Appointments Committee, Assistant Director, Adult Services - Thursday, 4th September, 2025 10.00 am

The Appointments Committee for the Assistant Director of Adult Services at Cardiff Council met on 4 September 2025 to interview a candidate for the position. Following the interview, the committee voted to appoint Louise Bassett as Assistant Director of Adult Services. The committee also confirmed that the selection process was conducted fairly and in accordance with the council's appointment processes.

Shortlisting, Appointments Committee, Assistant Director, Adult Services - Wednesday, 27th August, 2025 11.30 am

The Appointments Committee for the Assistant Director of Adult Services met to consider the shortlisting of candidates for the post. Prior to this meeting, the committee had convened on 17 July 2025 to review four applications and identify candidates for assessment. At this meeting, they considered the results of the assessment centre and agreed on the candidates to be included in the final stage of the process.
