The Housing and Regeneration Scrutiny Sub Committee met to discuss social landlord performance, progress against scrutiny recommendations, and the Regulator of Social Housing report. The meeting primarily focused on reviewing the progress made since the council took over housing management from Tower Hamlets Homes, examining tenant satisfaction measures, and analysing the performance of social housing providers. Notably, the meeting featured a discussion on two public interest reports from the Local Government and Social Care Ombudsman, revealing significant shortcomings in the council's handling of homelessness cases.

The Housing and Regeneration Scrutiny Sub Committee received a number of updates from council officers and representatives from Tower Hamlets Community Housing. A letter will be sent to the Mayor of Tower Hamlets, Lutfur Rahman, requesting he initiate a meeting with the Minister for Housing, the Regulator for Social Housing and local MPs to discuss the performance of Tower Hamlets Community Housing. The committee also noted the Local Government and Social Care Ombudsman's reports and recommendations.
