The Planning Applications Sub-Committee met on 9 September 2025, and approved plans to convert the Custom House, a Grade I listed building, into a hotel-led mixed-use development, and to use part of the Sugar Quay Jetty for seating and service related to a ground floor restaurant. The Custom House plan includes a hotel, spa, and ground floor food, beverage, gallery and event spaces, along with significant public realm improvements. The Sugar Quay Jetty application allows for a commercial seating area while maintaining public access.
Court of Common Council - Thursday, 24th July, 2025 1.00 pm
The Court of Common Council was scheduled to meet to discuss a range of issues, including improvements to Leadenhall Street, changes to the Fraud and Cyber Crime Reporting and Analysis Service Procurement Committee, and a new project management framework. They were also scheduled to consider appointments to various boards, applications for the Freedom of the City, and reports from the Audit and Risk Management Committee and the Comptroller & City Solicitor.
