Air Quality Monitoring Updates and Air Quality Management Areas - Recommendations

...to reflect improved air quality, the Cabinet agreed to revoke the Air Quality Management Areas in Tonbridge High Street, Larkfield, Aylesford, and Borough Green, while continuing air quality monitoring across the Borough.

Review of Fees and Charges 2025/26 - Waste, Leisure and Environmental Health

...to address the Borough Council's financial position and maximize income, the Cabinet approved a schedule of charges for various services including garden waste subscriptions, bulky refuse collection, missed refuse collection, stray dog redemption, allotment rentals, cemetery fees, pest control, food certificates, contaminated land services, and private water supply services, to be implemented from April 1, 2026, and also approved the principle of charging property developers for providing bins and waste containers for new developments, while exploring the feasibility of charging for public litter bins.

Local Government Reorganisation - Business Case Submission

... to submit to the Government by November 28, 2025, a business case for Option 3A, a 3-unitary model for local government reorganisation in Kent, with a West Kent authority comprising Tonbridge and Malling, Sevenoaks, Tunbridge Wells and Maidstone areas, delegating final drafting changes to the Chief Executive in consultation with the Leader, and allowing for inclusion of supporting documentation received before the deadline.

Waste Minimisation and Waste Management at Events on Council Owned Land

...to encourage greater use of refills and reduce waste from Council owned sites, the Cabinet endorsed a proposed guidance note to support event organizers in aligning their events with the Borough Council's objective to remove single use plastics from their operations.

...that the Tonbridge and Malling Regulation 18 Local Plan consultation document, Interim Sustainability Appraisal, and Draft Active Travel Strategy were approved for an 8-week public consultation period, with delegated authority granted for minor changes to the documents and supporting material, and for reviewing the specification for highways work to adequately respond to community concerns.
