Joint Senior Staff Committee

The Joint Senior Staff Committee oversees key appointments and disciplinary matters for senior council officers across Adur and Worthing.

It is responsible for recruiting and setting the terms and conditions for the Chief Executive, Chief Finance Officer, and Monitoring Officer, making recommendations to both councils. The committee also handles grievances and misconduct allegations against these officers, including appointing an independent panel. However, any decision to dismiss these senior roles must be approved by the Full Council. The committee also appoints non-statutory chief officers and deputy chief officers.
