Decision

The contract to provide a co-managed service for our Amazon Web Services (AWS) estate expired on 28/06/2025. The decision is to take out a new 3 year contract with the incumbent supplier, ANS Group.

With LGR on the horizon, maintaining stability within our server environment is critical and it is not cost effective to move. 

The total contract value over 3 years is £211,337 + VAT

Reasons for the decision

ANS have proved themselves as a reliable partner, and any disruption to services with LGR coming up would not be advisable.

Alternative options considered

Do nothing and let the current contract expire without putting an alternative solution in-place and move support in-house.  This was discounted because of the internal resource requirement.

Move to a new supplier.  This was also discounted for predominantly two reasons.  Firstly, ANS have provided a good, cost effective service.  And secondly, a move to a new supplier could be both expensive in terms of resources, and introduce instability and service disruption.
