Decision

To seek approval to implement revised parking tariffs as part of the review of Worthing car parks.

The Director for Sustainability and Resources is delegated to implement the following tariff changes, set out in detail in the body of this report:

·         To agree to the proposed tariff changes in the three Worthing Multi-Storey car parks.

·         To agree to the proposed tariff changes in a number of Worthing surface car parks.

·         To agree to the proposed season ticket tariff changes in the three Worthing Multi-Storey car parks.

·         To agree to the proposed season ticket tariff changes in a number of Worthing surface car parks.

·         To agree to introduce yearly season tickets at Brooklands Brighton Road East car park.

Reasons for the decision

I support and approve the above proposed tariff changes, The proposed car park tariff increase will support essential investment in essential car parks, ensuring their long-term viability and supports investment to improve the experience for visitors, residents, and workers in Worthing. The additional revenue will support increased associated costs and the investment will help support improved car park security.

Alternative options considered

Not increasing tariffs could put car parks at threat of closure and would prevent further upgrades and investment.
