The Helensburgh & Lomond Area Committee is responsible for discharging the Council's powers and duties within its specific sub-area, focusing on local matters. It develops and monitors Area Scorecards, reviews local service delivery to ensure performance and best value, and approves expenditure within delegated allocations and criteria. The committee also determines local, non-strategic issues, supports community organisations, leads on local community planning, and implements the Community Engagement Strategy. It has regulatory functions concerning road traffic orders and plays a lead role in the Local Development Plan and pre-application consultations for planning permission. The committee can also authorise land transactions and allocate income from empty properties, subject to Council frameworks and approvals.
