Decision

To instruct Legal Services to progress legal action in relation to a without notice civil injunction concerning threats made by XX towards a member of the Tenancy Services Team, Council staff and contractors, and to undertake any necessary legal work on behalf of the Council.

Reasons for the decision

To protect Council staff and contractors and support the Council in responding appropriately to alleged threatening behaviour. Legal Services were instructed to progress the matter and provide legal advice and representation as required.

Alternative options considered

Taking no legal action or delaying action pending further developments was considered and rejected due to the seriousness of the reported threats and the need to safeguard Council employees and protect the Council's interests.
