Decision
To authorise Legal Services to agree a Licence to Alter for the Lease for the Foreshores dated 22 November 1999 between The Crown Estate Commissioners and Arun District Council.
Reasons for the decision
The licence is required to capture the flood defence works the Environment Agency are planning to carry out, to improved the sea defences at Elmer Beach. As the EA are not party to the lease, a licence between the landlord and tenant is required to ensure the council’s compliance with its covenants and ensure that someone becomes responsible for the works at lease expiry.
To cooperate with the Environment Agency in carrying out their works which will improve the sea defences.
