Authority granted to waive Contract Standing Orders and extend the existing contract with G2V Recruitment Group Limited (Vivid Resourcing) for the provision of an interim Housing Surveyor. The extension covers the period 11 July 2026 to 10 January 2027, with a value of £42,663.40. The cumulative value of the engagement exceeds £50,000.

Reasons for the decision

The Housing Surveyor has been in post since 12 January 2026 and is providing support for key service improvements and continuity of service. The extension is required to help the council meet new statutory obligations under Awaab’s Law and the Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS), while continuing to address business requirements and regulatory improvement actions. Replacing the existing resource at this stage would be disruptive, delay progress and adversely affect service delivery.

Alternative options considered

Undertaking a procurement-led process and replacing the current worker were considered impractical due to the need to retain specialist knowledge, maintain continuity of service and avoid delays in delivering regulatory and service improvement work. It was concluded that extending the existing engagement represented the most effective option.
