Removal of the charge will ensure that the property title accurately reflects the current position and that the council's records remain up to date. The decision falls within the delegated authority of the John Holman, Group Head of Landlord Services, under the Officer Scheme of Delegation relating to Housing Revenue Account and landlord services functions.

Alternative options considered

To leave the expired charge on the property title. This option was rejected because the charge has expired and retaining it would serve no useful purpose and could create unnecessary complications in future property transactions.
