To authorise Legal Services to execute a lease extension of 90 years in respect of 38 xxx, Bognor Regis, PO22 xxx. The lease extension is to be completed for a premium of £3,580, with the leaseholder also paying the council's legal fees of £1,500.

Reasons for the decision

To enable the council to complete the agreed lease extension in accordance with the terms negotiated with the leaseholder and to facilitate the proper administration of the Housing Revenue Account housing asset. The decision falls within the delegated authority of the Interim Group Head of Landlord Services under the Officer Scheme of Delegation relating to Housing Revenue Account and Assets and Development matters.

Alternative options considered

Not to proceed with the lease extension. This option was rejected because terms had been agreed with the leaseholder and completion of the extension secures the agreed premium and associated legal costs for the council.
