Decision

To approve a licence to occupy / Tenancy at will for Arun Arts for a term beginning on 20th November 2026 and ending on 1st May 2027 for nil consideration with opening hours to be 09:00 – 18:00, and to authorise Legal Services to execute.

Reasons for the decision

To enable Arun Arts (AA) to occupy Unit 6 The Arcade in order to promote the new Alexandra Arts Centre and act as temporary box office prior to the AAC opening.

Alternative options considered

Charging rent – not pursued as the unit is being held vacant due to the Arcade project so this initiative does not add to the council’s costs and promotes the joint council/AA theatre project.
